History
The Center for Balanced Living opened as The Center for Eating Disorders & Psychotherapy on February 1, 2001 as the only organization that provides comprehensive outpatient treatment, research and prevention services that specialize in eating disorders in Central Ohio. The Center collaborates with community and national organizations on education/prevention projects and initiatives. These organizations include The Ohio State University, the new community-wide task force “Healthy and Fit” Project, The Ohio Department of Health and The National Eating Disorders Association.

The Center opened a Partial Hospitalization Program in December 2007. This specialized day treatment program is designed for patients ages 18 or older who suffer from Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder or other variations of eating Disorders, and who need daily structure to aid in recovery.

Over 90 educational programs were presented in the 2006-7 fiscal year, directly reaching over 3000 people.

The Center is conducting an outcome study to measure treatment impact for the Intensive Outpatient Program for Eating Disorders.

The Center and the Board of Trustees created a new strategic development plan in the spring of 2008, to update The Center's goals and objectives established in 2005.
